REFLECT: The Week I Realised “Doing the Work” Didn’t Mean Hustling Harder
“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes… including you.” — Anne Lamott
I used to think healing was a to-do list.
Read the books.
Do the journaling.
Buy / drink the green juice.
Book the yoga class.
Meditate twice a day.
Remember to actually breathe.
(Then probably drink a bottle of wine later to “balance it out”... because lol, self-care and I totally deserved it.)

But here's what no one told me:
Sometimes “doing the work” looks like slowing down, not speeding up.
Sometimes it's saying, “Nope, not today. I’m resting because I matter.”
Sometimes it's choosing to feel instead of fix.
I didn’t need another morning routine or to-do list.
I needed to stop punishing myself for being human, for being someone I thought people wanted me to be.
Healing doesn’t always feel like progress — sometimes it just feels like a pause, like listening to your mind, your body or to the younger version of you who's trying to tell you she needs to feel safe.
Now? I’m finally starting to understand that stillness IS progress.
That softness IS power, that I don’t always have to just survive, I can just be.
And that I’m allowed to be a work in progress without always being productive.
So if you’ve been trying to “fix” yourself constantly - queen, take a breath, take a moment to recognise how far you have come, be proud of that journey and everything that got you to this moment.
You’re not broken. You’re just tired.
Let’s make rest a priority again.
🔥 RISE: Your Weekly Glow-Up Check-In
This week’s energy: Slow down to rise higher.
Your 3-step challenge:
Unsubscribe from one thing that’s draining your energy (email, invite, expectation — BYE).
Carve out 10 minutes just for you. No phone. No pressure. Just space.
Repeat this mantra whenever you feel “not enough” creeping in:
“I am allowed to rest. I am allowed to rise slowly. I am still worthy while I wait.”
✨ REAL TALK:
If you stopped pushing and started nurturing…
What would actually shift?
Let that question sit in your chest for a minute.
Journal it. Cry about it. Dance it out.
Just don’t ignore it — because that’s where your glow lives.
